A battery system including a plurality of lead-acid cells. This system comprises a vertically upstanding cell support frame inclusinve of a plurality of means for individually vertically supporting at least one lead-acid cells, at least two vertically upstanding members (20) having receptacle means formed for jointly slidably receiving and retaining a plurality of cell vertical support means (56), and manually assemblable means (70) for connectingly maintaining said upstanding members (20) in spaced positional relationship one to another for receipt of said cell support means. Further each cell, which has positive and negative sandwiched lead metals, includes a vent valve (300) with a catalyst holder and palladium as catalyst, an exterior wall having an aperture (220) therethrough for passage of a positive terminal inclusive a flexible loop (210). |
