PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an unpleasant feeling when clothes existing between the middle part of a back or a part a little upper than a lower back and a backrest part are pulled with the increase of sinking amount of a seat surface when a user sits on a chair. SOLUTION: The chair 1 composed of at least the backrest part 20 and a seat part 30 includes an extending/contracting part 10 to be extended/contracted with the rising/sinking of the seat part 30. The position of the extending/contracting part 10 corresponds to the bending part of a backbone, which is obtained in an area close to pelvis when the user sits on with back muscle stretched. Thus, the lower back part of the user of the seat 1 is not strongly brought into contact with elastic members 14 so as to allow the user not to feel an unnatural feeling in the lower back part. Bag parts 13 store elastic members 14 and formed by sewing a superimposed external fabric 11 and an internal fabric 12 at equal interval. The size of the diameter of the bag parts 13 is formed to be a little larger than the outer diameter of the elastic members 14, so that the elastic members 14 are not deviated inside the bag parts 13 when the extending/contracting part 10 is fixed to the seat 1.
