PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air disinfecting apparatus accurately controlling the concentration of active oxygen species contained in electrolytic water to target concentration, and its control method. SOLUTION: When water is exchanged and when elapsed time from the electrolytic operation of the previous time is long, an operation is performed in a start-up operation mode optimum for the electrolysis of the water before the electrolysis (step Sa3 - step Sa7). Also, when the elapsed time from the electrolytic operation of the previous time is short, an operation is performed in a regular operation mode optimum for the electrolysis of the water after the electrolysis (step Sa8 - step Sa12).
