PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device which simplifies an editing work to raise user's operability since the editing work is difficult for a general user other than an expert such as a video content production worker, there is technology for having templates for the purpose of supporting the editing work on a personal computer in order to simplify the editing work, however, for the technology utilizing the templates, processing for a user to insert recorded video data into the templates by after treatment is general in a video content creation/editing work. SOLUTION: In the present invention, the recording and reproducing device automatically executes editing according to a scenario selected by the user only by recording video information. Thus, the editing work of a video image recorded by the recording and reproducing device is completed by the recording and reproducing device. Furthermore, editing by the after treatment after recording the video information by the recording and reproducing device by the user becomes unnecessary by using the scenario in which recording procedures and scene structure are preset.
