PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand an insertion width of a disk inserting port while making a whole disk device compact. SOLUTION: Either one of both sides of front surface of a chassis 5 is cut, and a disk inserting port 3 is formed such that the whole width of a front surface of the chassis 5 becomes the insertion width L, where the disk DS is inserted in a state deviated by a prescribed angle to the side of the cut surface 3a from the front surface inserting position passing through a center axial line X viewed from the plane. Meanwhile, the disk device is provided with at least a pair of left/right disk carrying-in means 39 for pulling-in and setting the disk DS which is deviated from the area of the cut surface 3a and inserted to the chassis 5, and a disk carrying-out means 41 for returning the disk DS at the disk mounting position to the disk inserting port 3, and recording or reproducing of information to or from the disk DS set on the disk mounting position is performed.
