PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorptive article that has a guaranteed mountability, prevents itself from becoming twisted and is well-disposable after use. SOLUTION: The absorptive article consists of a substantially vertically-oriented thin (0.5-2 mm thick) absorptive body 10 of an absorption layer A and a leakproof layer B, and a shape-retaining strip 6 extending in the absorptive body 10 in its longitudinal direction. The shape-retaining strip 6 is arranged in a gap C between the absorption layer A and the leakproof layer B of the absorptive body 10.
