PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image blur correction device that has an imaging element, movable within a plane perpendicular to the optical path, with the correction device being designed so as to make the imaging element move with high accuracy by reducing the harmful moment and friction. SOLUTION: The image blur correction device includes the imaging element; a guide means, used to guide the imaging element so that the imaging element is movable linearly within a plane perpendicular to a photographic optical axis, with the guide means being disposed in a position different from the imaging element within the plane perpendicular to the optical axis; and a flexible substrate, extended from the imaging element. Part of the flexible substrate which is connected to the imaging element is used as a movable area, which moves integrally with the imaging element. An area, continuous with the movable area, is used as a freely deformable area of the flexible substrate. The flexible substrate, extended from the imaging element, is directed so that a boundary between the movable area and freely deformable area approaches the guide means. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
