An illumination unit is provided to increase color rendering by adjusting the intensity of two output beams which are outputted from first and second light sources, respectively. An illumination unit includes a power supply device(1), a first light source(2), and a second light source(4). The power supply device supplies a predetermined voltage and turns on/off the illumination unit. The first light source emits a predetermined color beam by using the voltage from the power supply device. The second light source emits another color beam which is different from the beam from the first light source, by using the voltage from the power supply device. The illumination unit includes a dimming controller(5), a microcontroller(7), and a status detector(9). The dimming controller adjusts the intensity and color coordinates of the beams from the first and second light sources within a predetermined range. The microcontroller controls the inner components according to a predetermined signal. The status detector detects a peripheral brightness or a peripheral temperature. |
