An apparatus and a method for generating a build version for functional test of a broadcasting receiver are provided to perform a compiling work on a stack even during absence of engineers. A timer unit(100) generates time information. A compiler unit(110) generates a build version by compiling a stack, which is inputted from the outside, at a specific time cycle by using the generated time information. A determining unit(120) determines whether there is an error in the compiling result. If there is the error in the compiling result as the determining result, an error report generating unit(130) generates a report file for error details.
