A method and a system for diagnosing psychological symptoms using pictures are provided to enhance the diagnose accuracy of the psychological symptoms by reducing a prejudice of a user. A system(100) for diagnosing psychological symptoms using pictures includes an input module(110), a dominant color determining module(130), a balance determining module(150), and a psychological symptom diagnose module(160). The input module receives a picture, which is drawn by a user to be diagnosed. The dominant color determining module recognizes colors in the picture and determines a dominant color of the picture. The balance determining module recognizes an envelope of the picture and determines whether the picture is balanced based on the envelope. The psychological symptom diagnose module consults an LUT(Look-Up Table), which represents a relation among the dominant color, the balance, and the psychological symptoms, and diagnoses the psychological symptoms of the user based on the determined results.
