BARREL FOR A CATAPULT AND IT'S MANUFACTURING PROCESS

A barrel for an injection molding machine and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent abrasion of the inner surface of the barrel even when the barrel suffers from an injection pressure, high temperature, or frictional force. A barrel(10) includes a barrel body(11) with a hollow inside, and a bush(13) silicon carbide. The outer surface of the bush is fixed on the inner surface of the barrel body. A method for manufacturing a barrel includes a step of preparing a barrel body with a hollow inside, a step of mixing silicon carbide, carbon, and a binder, a step of producing a bush to be inserted into the barrel body by extrusion-molding the mixture, a step of baking the bush, a step of removing foreign substances from the baked bush, a step of bonding the barrel body and the bush using an adhesive and heating the bonded structure, and a step of polishing the inner surface of the barrel.
