PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jigsaw which can reduce a burden on a worker by easily increasing a cutting speed with a weak pressing force. SOLUTION: This jigsaw 1 comprises: a motor which is built in a housing 3; a reciprocating-motion converting mechanism which converts the rotational motion of the motor into the reciprocating motion of a blade 6; a gear holder 4 for supporting the reciprocating-motion converting mechanism; and a base 5 which is attached to the gear holder 4 (or the housing 3). The jigsaw 1 cuts a material 24 to be cut with the reciprocating blade 6, while moving a main body 2 keeping the base 5 in contact with the material 24. A rotating means (a tapered surface 5a formed on the undersurface of the base 5) for shifting the center of the gravity of the main body to a front position in a cutting direction by rotating the main body 2 during cutting is provided in a section from the leading end of the base 5 to the lower part of the center of the gravity of the main body 2.
