PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower noises and improve efficiency by fixing a stator to an inner peripheral surface of a sealed case. SOLUTION: A hermetic compressor has, on an outer peripheral surface, a plurality of clamp members 18 for closely contacting and holding laminated electromagnetic steel plates 16 of a motor section 2 which drives a compression mechanism section 4, and fixes the stator 9 to the inner peripheral surface of the sealed case 6 through these clamp members 18.
