<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily confirm a folded finished state by a preview function in an image forming apparatus with a function for folding an output paper sheet. <P>SOLUTION: Folding conditions are input by a folding setting means 5. A print key 16 is depressed to start reading of an original image. An original loaded on an ADF is read by a reading means 1 and stored in an image storage means 2. A fold to be created when the original image is folded according to folding direction and folding width set by the folding conditions is calculated. A preview image is created, the preview image and the fold are preview-displayed for every folding size unit on a liquid crystal display 8 via a preview display control means 6. The original image and the fold displayed by preview are checked and when setting of the folding is changed, the setting of the folding is input again.
