PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of evaluating an insulation oil capable of evaluating easily a cluster state in the insulation oil deteriorated with long term use, in a short time. SOLUTION: In this method of evaluating the insulation oil, the insulation oil before a cluster is broken and the insulation oil after the cluster is broken are respectively liquid-passed through a structure having prescribed pores, capillaries or slits to be dropped naturally therethrough, and the cluster state in the insulation oil is evaluated, based on a ratio of a liquid passing time t<SB>1</SB>of the insulation oil before the same amount of the cluster is broken to a liquid passing time t<SB>2</SB>of the deteriorated insulation oil after the cluster is broken, or a ratio of liquid passing amounts in the both within the same time.
