PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for connecting a coil car with a floor plate, which device can suppress the number of the floor plates to be arranged and can suppress the increase of an equipment cost even when the distance between a coil skid and a reel has increased, and also can disconnect the coil car from the floor plate at a required position with a simple mechanism. SOLUTION: The device connects the coil car 1, which moves the coil in the longitudinal direction of a pit formed between a coil skid for temporarily storing the coil of band material and a reel for rewinding and winding the coil, with the floor plate 6b, which can telescope so as to cover the pit 12 by being pulled out following the movement of the coil car by being connected with the coil car 1. The device comprises mechanisms 10, 11 for disconnecting the floor plate 6b from the coil car 1 when the floor plate 6b has been pulled out to a required position covering a part of the pit 12.
