A light beam path monitoring device comprising a group information recording section for recording group information representing that to which splitter each terminator is connected, a normal information recording section for recording the intensity of the reflected light from each of the terminators when no failure occurs in the light beam paths, a monitoring information recording section for recording the intensity of the reflected light from each of the terminators when failure of the light beam paths is monitored, an attenuation value judging section for detecting a terminator whose reflected light intensity is attenuated during failure monitoring with respect to the one in the normal information, and a control section which judges that a failure between splitters connected to a tester and all the terminators has occurred if the intensities of the reflected lights of all the terminators connected to the same splitter are attenuated by the same value.
