A mobile terminal is provided to prevent degradation of radiowave transmission/reception characteristics of an antenna and prevent degradation of call communication sensitivity although a terminal body shields the antenna, by enabling the antenna as a low profile antenna. A main body part(10) includes an antenna(13) mounted at an upper end thereof. A slider part(20) is disposed on the main body part stepwise and slidably opened/closed with respect to the main body part. A transmission/reception improving unit(22') is formed on a rear surface of the slider part and operates the antenna as a low profile antenna in a call mode when the slider part is slidably moved with respect to the main body part and shields the antenna.
