METHOD FOR INTEGRATING MANUAL INPUT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to discriminate various hand parts contacting with a surface so as to be used to discriminate various type of input actions.

SOLUTION: The method uses a system for recognizing behavior of a hand on a multi-touch surface to discriminate a hand contact part from another type of an empty thumb contact part and to generate an input signal from a device of the system to a competitive device. The method includes a step for measuring the size and direction of contact parts in total, a step for facilitating discrimination of a provided contact part as a thumb contact part when the provided contact part is larger than a typical fingertip contact part, a step to prevent discrimination of a provided contact part as a thumb contact part when the provided contact part is larger than a typical thumb contact part and a step to facilitating discrimination of a provided contact part as a thumb contact part when a direction of the provided contact part is close to a predicted inclination of a thumb.
