<p>A method for making an elastic composite for incorporation into an absorbent garment. An elastic applicator (1007) is configured to move a section of a continuous strand of elastic (WW) about a plane. A web of material is conveyed in a web moving direction such that the web intersects the plane. T applicator moves the elastic element about the plane to apply the elastic onto the web along a direction transverse to the web moving direction such that the web draws the elastic from the applicator as the web is conveyed away from the plane. The applicator may be a spin cylinder or bracket operated to spin the elastic about the moving web to apply elastic to the web.</p>
