INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND OPERATION CONTROL METHOD FOR USE IN THE APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus that can implement a sufficient copyright protection function and can output high quality video data.

SOLUTION: A control part 501 sets a reset signal for resetting an HDMI control circuit 3 active (Reset=low) in response to power input to a computer 10. The reset signal is supplied to an HDMI transmitter (HDMI-TX) 301 and to an HDMI control part 302. The control part 501 holds the reset signal active until a specific operating system having a content protection function is started. The control part 501 sets the reset signal inactive (Reset=High) to set the HDMI control circuit 3 in operation only after the specific operating system having the content protection function is started.
