PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker capable of effectively decomposing smoke and odor of a cooked object at an initial time in starting cooking by rising a catalyst temperature to an activation temperature in a short time, preventing wasteful opening of a door during cooking and dangerousness attendant thereon by allowing an inside cooking state to be confirmed without opening the door, and achieving efficient cooking heating and desmoking/deodorizing effect. SOLUTION: This heating cooker is composed of an exhaust duct 6 disposed to discharge smoke and odor generated in a cooking chamber 9 to the external, catalysts 17a, 17b disposed in the exhaust duct, and a heating body 18 disposed near the catalysts to activate the catalysts, the heating body is composed of a halogen lamp heater, and its light is introduced to the cooking chamber to be applied as an inside lighting element.
