<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decode an H. 263 coded bit stream through a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The image decoder comprises a means for switching the escape code analysis method of DCT coefficients when a first coded bit stream of H. 263 coding system is received and when a second coded bit stream of MPEG-4 coding system is received. The switching means performs decoding analysis of subsequent DCT coefficient coded data with a fixed length if an escape code is detected in the decoding process of DCT coefficients when the first coded bit stream is received, and decodes the DCT coefficient coded data by correcting subsequent codes if an escape code is detected in the decoding process of DCT coefficients when the second coded bit stream is received. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
