<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an angular ball bearing for a turbocharger capable of preventing the rotating shaft of the turbocharger from being swung even when fixed position preloading is adopted as a method of imparting a preload. <P>SOLUTION: A shoulder part 52 is formed on only one side of the raceway groove of an inner ring 31. A shoulder part 52 is formed on only one side of the raceway groove of an outer ring 32. The shoulder part 51 of the inner ring 31 and the shoulder part 52 of the outer ring 32 are disposed oppositely to each other with respect to the plane including the center P of balls 33 and vertical to the center axis 70 of the outer ring 32. In the cross section including the center axis 70 of the outer ring 32, the raceway groove of the outer ring 32 is composed of a curved part 57 having a generally same curvature on the shoulder 52 side and a straightline part 58 generally parallel with the center axis 70 arranged continuously with the curved part.
