PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exchange and a presence information notice method thereof capable of enhancing the convenience of a user in the case of even an extension telephone set without a sophisticated function that can grasp a state of an opposite party before making a phone call. SOLUTION: The exchange including a call control section for connecting between an external line and an extension or between extensions to form a speech path to an extension telephone set, includes: a presence control section 15 that receives a presence revision notice from a PC telephone set 30 serving as a presence compatible terminal connected to a LAN via a SIP protocol processing section 13 to discriminate whether or not the notice is a state notice denoting a change in the state of the PC telephone set 30; and a lamp broadcast control section 18 that transmits a notice of lighting controlling an LED provided at the extension telephone set 20 to the extension telephone set 20 via an extension telephone set protocol processing section 12 when the presence control section 15 discriminates that the presence information is the state notice.
