The invention relates to a device for accelerating the increase in the lubricating oil temperature of an internal combustion engine comprising an exhaust-gas turbocharger. The inventive device is characterised in that it includes a controlled-flow branch circuit (9) which is connected in parallel to the inlet (7) and outlet (8) passages for the pressurised oil passing through the turbocharger (1) while the pressure of the oil passing therethrough and being heated by the exhaust gases is greater than a pre-determined pressure level corresponding to the normal operating oil pressure when the engine is hot. The invention is suitable for use in the automotive industry.
