<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce useless separators in a battery element and enhance the volume efficiency of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery. <P>SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte battery having a positive electrode and a negative electrode both formed by arranging an active material layer on a current collector and a separator, insulating members are arranged so as to cover an active material forming end part of the positive electrode or the negative electrode positioned in the winding inner circumferential part and a winding outer circumferential part of the battery. The active material layer is comprised of a covered part covered with the insulating member and a reaction part not covered with the insulating member. The separator end part on the winding inner circumferential side is positioned on the covered part and on the reaction part side than the active material forming end part, and the separator end part on the winding outer circumferential side is positioned so as to cover at least the reaction part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
