PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine and fuel injection valve capable of lifting the entire fuel spray higher in a cylinder, compared to conventional technologies. SOLUTION: A plurality of intake valves (9a, 9b) are provided in one cylinder. Fuel spray (13) synthesized by a first spray part (13a) relatively deviated to the upper side of the cylinder and second and third spray parts (12b, 13c) deviated in a direction inclined from a direction perpendicular to a centerline of the cylinder toward the lower side of the cylinder symmetrically with respect to a face in the cylinder vertical direction including an axis of the fuel injection valve at predetermined angles (θa,θb) can be injected to inside of the cylinder by the fuel injection valve. The first spray part (13a) is positioned at a gap between a plurality of intake valves (9a, 9b) projecting to inside of the cylinder in an intake stroke, and the second and third spray parts (13b, 13c) are positioned higher in the cylinder within a range preventing the second and third spray parts (13b, 13c) from colliding with the plurality of intake valves (9a, 9b) projecting to inside of the cylinder in the intake stroke.
