PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device that can vary the spectral form of SC (super continuum) light to be emitted. SOLUTION: A light source device 1a is equipped with a pulse light source 2 that emits an optical pulse train P1 of ultrashort pulse light having a pulse width of several femtoseconds, an optical fiber 11 optically coupled with the pulse light source 2 and receiving the light pulse train P1 to emit SC light P2, and an optical axis adjusting unit 3 optically coupled between the pulse light source 2 and the optical fiber 11. The optical axis adjusting unit 3 varies the optical coupling efficiency between the pulse light source 2 and the optical fiber 11 by using misalignment of optical axes between the pulse light source 2 and the optical fiber 11, and thereby varies the maximum power in each pulse included in the pulse train P1.
