PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source lighting device with communication function capable of performing rapid communication processing while executing appropriately lighting control of a light source, even if a communication request occurs during processing of a feed-back control. SOLUTION: The light source lighting device is provided with a power conversion device 30 for adjusting power supplied to a light source 10 from a power supply 1, detection parts 6b, 6c to detect at least one of voltage Vla and current Ila of the light source 10, and a control part (microcomputer 7) to feed-back control the supplied power to the light source 10 by the power conversion device 30 based on the detected value by the detection parts 6b, 6c. The control part is provided with a communication section 7r which can carry out at least one of transmission and receiving with the outside, and when a communication request occurs to the communication section 7r, the control part fixes an instruction value given to the power conversion device 30 for feed-back control to a prescribed value. For example, the detected value of the detection parts 6b, 6c is fixed to a detected value immediately before the communication request occurs, or to a prescribed value in the rated output range.
