<p>Foam segments are cut on a machine with a fixed bandsaw to which the plastic blank is conveyed so positioned that its longitudinal axis is parallel to the knife. the blank is rotating continually about its axis through 360 degrees and is advanced to the knife in intervals corresponding to the required thickness, by the movement of the frame along the column. The bearer plate for the foam blank may be equipped with suction openings to retain the blank in position, and the machine may be programmed to work automatically to a certain limit, and then return the plate to its original position.</p> |
