VIBRATION AND NOISE ABSORBING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noises by suppressing the vibration of a film-surface vibrator in a wide frequency range. SOLUTION: An oil reservoir 12 is formed along the surface of the film-surface vibrator 11 such as an oil pan or a head cover for an internal combustion engine. The amount of liquid to be reserved in the oil reservoir 12 is controlled depending on the vibrating condition (the vibration frequency) of the film-surface vibrator 11 detected by a vibration sensor 15 by opening/closing an inlet valve 13 and an outlet valve 14, and so optimum vibration and noise absorbing effects are produced depending on the vibrating condition even when the vibrating condition of the film-surface vibrator 11 is changed. The oil reservoir 12 is made empty by opening the outlet valve 14 when stopping the internal combustion engine. This results in easy maintenance of the oil reservoir 12 when stopping the internal combustion engine as well as no air mixing in an oil pump due to the shortage of oil when starting the internal combustion engine without the need for particularly increasing the amount of oil.
