The invention concerns a sound absorbing material, particularly in the form of open-cell foam, in which the requirements with regard to fire protection, are met without impairing the acoustic properties. To this end, at least a portion of the surface is covered with a flame-retarding powder or sprayed with a flame-retarding solution on the sound absorbing material that is covered by an acoustically transparent film. |
