<p>The three-way valve features a cartridge for temperature control. The hot media runs axially in the direction of the chassis' axis and is only slightly changing its direction. The cold media comes from the side and changes its flow direction by 90 degrees. This lessens the pressure drop of the hot media. The measurement of the differential pressure is performed in such a way that with a small throughput there is a relatively large pressure drop, while for larger ones the pressure drop is relatively small. This is achieved by two valve plates, which are held asunder by a spring. The upper plate is by the force of spring held on the seat. With a smaller throughput the plate has to move, while in the narrow gap a relatively large pressure drop is produced. With a large throughput the upper plate is removed completely, the gap is larger and the pressure drop does not increase significantly.</p> |
