The continuously variable transmission has two driving discs, in which force application units (12,17) are provided, which acts on intermediate pulleys so as to trigger tilting, which changes the respective transmission ratio about a tilt axis which is respectively assigned to them. A control device (23) is provided for controlling component transmissions in accordance with the predefinition of a set point value. The predefinition of a set point value comprises defining an independent set point value for each component transmission. An independent claim is also included for a method for distributing a torque between two output shafts in the continuously variable transmission.
