PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibration piece capable of acquiring a high energy confinement effect and attenuating various spurious vibrations superimposed on a main vibration. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric vibration piece 10 to solve the problem has a thick portion 14 and a thin portion 16 formed around the thick portion 14, and consists of a piezoelectric substrate 12 having a crystal structure using a main vibration as a thickness-shear vibration. Excitation electrodes 18 (18a, 18b) are formed on the plate surface of the thick portion 14, and a plurality of convex portions 24 having irregularly decided sizes are formed on the plate surface of the thin portion 16.
