<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an inkjet recording medium which can hardly cause a streaky defect and peeling of a coating layer and has a homogeneous glossy surface. <P>SOLUTION: First, a coating base material 5 with an ink accepting layer 3 on a low-gas permeable or non-gas permeable support 2, is formed by applying a coating liquid 13 for the ink accepting layer 3 to the surface of the support 2 and drying the coating liquid 13. After that, a coating liquid 14 for a glossy layer 4 is supplied to the surface of the ink accepting layer 3, then the glossy layer 4 is formed by bringing the surface, of the ink accepting layer 3, on the side to which the coating liquid 14 for the glossy layer is supplied, into contact under pressure with a calender roll 23, and the glossy layer 4 is released from the calender roll 23 while the glossy layer 4 is in a wet state or a half-dry state. The maximum surface temperature of the ink accepting layer 3 when the coating liquid 13 is dry or the surface temperature when the drying is ended, is 50°C is higher, and the time to be spent until the coating liquid 14 is supplied to the surface of the ink accepting layer 3 from the time when the maximum surface temperature is obtained or the drying is ended, is five hours or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
