PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a level shift circuit capable of suppressing power consumption and also improving a drive margin so that a transition time can be controlled within a prescribed range. SOLUTION: The level shift circuit 10 has a function for giving an input signal to a control terminal of an inverter circuit, obtaining an output signal from an output terminal of the inverter circuit and converting voltage amplitude of the input signal into voltage width of power supply voltage of the inverter circuit in the form of basically connecting two CMOS inverter circuits in parallel. In two current paths 20 and 30 constituting the level shift circuit 10, a signal to be inputted to gate terminals of n-channel transistors 26 and 36 is not supplied with the input signal in1 as it is, but is supplied through input voltage conversion circuits 40 and 41 as a signal with offset given thereto in accordance with a threshold Vthn of the n-channel transistors 26 and 36 with respect to the voltage amplitude of the input signal in1.
