An initial polygon obtained from point groups is used as a control polygon, and the control points of the control polygon are offset in a normal direction by the shortest distance from an extreme curved surface generated by the control polygon, so that the positions of new control points to interpolate finely divided curved surfaces into the initial polygon are determined to generate the finely divided curved surfaces interpolating the point groups. A first process to determine the point on the finely divided curved surfaces at the shortest distance from each control point, and a second process to move and offset the control point in the normal direction from the curved surface by a distance between the point in the curved surface and the initial control point are repeated till the distance between the initial point group and the point in the curved surface satisfies or becomes smaller than the threshold value, thereby to generate a finely divided curved surface interpolating the initial polygon. As a result, the generation of the finely divided curved surface interpolating the point groups is made for a short operation time period without solving a linear system.
