<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst containing a CeZr based multiple oxide which can maintain a hollow body structure to secure the oxygen storage performance even after being exposed to hot exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purifying catalyst consists of a catalyst layer having the multiple oxide which is formed on the surface of a honeycomb carrier, contains cerium (Ce) and zirconium (Zr) and has the hollow body structure, and a catalytic metal supported on the multiple oxide, wherein the multiple oxide having the hollow body structure receives the thermal hysteresis of 1,000 °C in air and for 24 h and thereafter contains particles having the shape of the outside diameter of 750-1,000 nm and the hull thickness of 80-120 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
