The sealing disk (20), for the opening (12) of a container (10), has a conductive layer (23) to carry induction heat. The heat melts the layer to give a sealed layer (21) fused to the container opening. An absorbent layer (22) draws out and absorbs oxygen from the filling within the interior (11) of the container.
