<p>The present invention discloses an optical dispersion compensation device and method in an optical communication system. The optical dispersion compensation device and method prevent distortion of an optical signal by removing residual dispersion of each wavelength band of the optical signal passing through a common dispersion compensation optical fiber, by splitting the optical signal into wavelength bands and passing the optical signals of each wavelength band through a different length of dispersion compensation optical fibers.
