摘要 A power transfer system of a hybrid electric vehicle is provided to allow the vehicle to travel in a more efficient mode by selecting the mode in a low speed section and a high speed section. In a hybrid electric vehicle using an engine and first and second motors as power sources, a power transfer system transfers the power output from the engine and the motors to an axle. The power transfer system includes a first planetary gear set(PG1), a third planetary gear set(PG3), a second planetary gear set(PG2), a first clutch(115), and a second clutch(116). The first planetary gear set can transfers the power to the output shaft of the engine and the output shaft of the second motor. The third planetary gear set can transfer the power to the output shaft of the first motor. The second planetary gear set can transfer the power between the first and second planetary gear sets and the axle. The first clutch variably connects the first planetary gear set and the third planetary gear set. The second clutch variably connects the third planetary gear set to a housing that is a fixing element. A mode conversion is performed by a selective operational control of the first and second clutches.
