LENS DISTORTION CORRECTION METHOD

A lens distortion correction method is provided to improve accuracy of correction and decrease complexity of calculation even though a polynomial of a low order is used by deciding a distortion coefficient based on a distortion ratio of a lens which is defined when the lens is designed. A coordinate for each pixel of a distorted image is set by an origin as a central point of the distorted image and by coordinate axes as horizontal and vertical central lines of the distorted image. A distance from the origin to the coordinate for each pixel of the distorted image is calculated. A distortion coefficient is obtained by using a distortion ratio and the distance to the coordinate for each pixel of the distorted image. A corrected coordinate of each pixel is obtained by using the distortion coefficient.
