<p>The circuit has an input terminal for connecting asynchronous serial data, where a scanner (5) is provided for scanning the asynchronous serial data. A bit length counter (4) is provided for determining the length of a bit by counting a number of predetermined clocking. A bit length terminal is provided for variable adjustment of the number of clocks of the bit length counter at the integrated circuit and/or at the bit length counter. An adjustable prescaler (2) and the fixed bit length counter are combined to form the adjustable bit length counter. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an integrated circuit.</p> |
