<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller that makes it possible to shorten a starting time when the controller must be restarted in a short time after it is stopped and thus contributes to the enhancement of the performance of applications to which the controller is applied. <P>SOLUTION: When a motor is being driven, processing is carried out to acquire the frequency and phase of the rotation of the motor. Thus, even when stopping operation is performed, the processing to acquire the frequency and phase of the rotation of the motor is being still carried out. When a motor is being driven, a driving signal or the like for producing supply output to the motor may be superimposed on the supply output.
