PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator employing a linear motor, capable of attaining improvement of operating efficiency by facilitating positioning of a stator without causing complexity of configuration, enlargement and a cost increase of the actuator. SOLUTION: This actuator includes; the linear motor provided with the stator laminated and arranged with a plurality of permanent magnets and extended in a shaft-like manner and a moving element having a coil movably provided on a peripheral side of the stator; and a pair of stator support portions supporting both ends of the stator. At least at either one side of this one pair of stator support portions, the stator is constructed so as to be movably supported in a direct or indirect manner by means of a thread structure and so as to be fixed at an optional position.
