<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device which can maximize the light-use efficiency in a transmissive part by forming a reflective plate in a boundary between a transmissive part and a reflective part so as to allow a part of light incident to the reflective part from a backlight to be reflected on the reflective plate toward the transmissive part, and to provide a method for fabricating the device. <P>SOLUTION: The transflective liquid crystal device includes a substrate, gate lines and data lines perpendicularly arranged to each other on the substrate to define pixel regions each segmented into a transmissive part and a reflective part, thin film transistors formed adjacent to crossing portions of the gate lines and data lines, a passivation (protective) layer formed on the thin film transistors, pixel electrodes formed on the passivation layer, first reflective plates electrically connected with the pixel electrodes and formed in the reflective parts, and second reflective plates formed on the substrate corresponding to the boundaries between the transmissive parts and the reflective parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
