PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detection device and its manufacturing method capable of suppressing a characteristic change caused by exposure of a magnetoelectric conversion element to a high temperature in a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: First of all, a Hall IC 7 is stored and fixed in a casing 10, and then set in a shaping die of a body 3 together with the casing 10, and subjected to insert molding. Namely, when molding the body 3, the Hall IC 7 is not brought into direct contact with a molten resin. Consequently, a temperature rise of the Hall IC 7 at the insert molding time to the body 3 is greatly suppressed low, compared with a temperature rise of the Hall IC 7 at the insert molding time to the body of a conventional liquid level detection device. Hereby, a fuel level gage 1 capable of suppressing the characteristic change caused by exposure of the Hall IC 7 to a high temperature in the manufacturing process can be provided.
