PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of suppressing occurrence of so-called liquid sealing at pump-down operation time even when amount of refrigerant of the whole system and capacity of an outdoor heat exchanger are set to be substantially equal. SOLUTION: This air conditioner provided with an outdoor unit 100 having an accumulator 1, a compressor 3, a four way valve 5, and the outdoor heat exchanger 7, an indoor unit 100 having an indoor heat exchanger 15, and pump-down operation mode, is provided with a control means 100A for inverting the four way valve 5 after performing pump-down operation.
